IT was reassuring to see nearly 100 local residents of Threshfield turn up for a recent parish council meeting in torrential rain to voice their concerns about two proposed sites which have been put forward by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) to be allocated for residential development. WebGRASSINGTON (population 988), in Upper Wharfedale, may be-approached by rail from Skipton to Threshfield (1.5 miles distant). A good motor bus service runs from Skipton to Grassington. It is picturesquely situated on the hillside overlooking the Wharfe. The old Roman roads, the barrows, flint arrow heads, and the like, indicate great antiquity.
